I was at a studio some time ago recording a few guitar tracks and I came across a rare gem: a 1968 FNDR Twin Reverb Silverface model, modified with Electro-Voice speakers. It was an incredible experience. I had never heard anything like it! The sweet highs, punchy mids, and defined lows.
A tone I never imagined coming from a Fender Twin. I was blown away by the sound, and only later did I realize that the real secret was the modification the owner had done.
Electro-Voice speakers are used in cabinets by everyone from John Mayer to Zakk Wylde, and that day I understood why. It's as if they're a blank canvas, shaped by the amp, which is why Marshalls, Fenders, and Dumbles can truly shine in all their glory.
The amp in question wasn’t for sale—the owner told me it had many stories and had seen more stages than most active bands. But he gave me permission to capture it in a recording session (paid, of course) so I could take it with me for live shows.
Now, I’m offering you the chance to add this unique piece, discovered in a nearly unknown studio, to your personal collection. It completely changed the way I think about the ‘Twin Reverb’ sound.
What the package includes:
-1 Clean sound capture.
-2 Break Up/Crunch/Drive captures from the amp’s power section
-4 captures with the Ibanez Tube Screamer, Boss OD1, Marshall Guv’nor, and EH Big Muff pedals in front of the amp.
I’m excited to share this find with you, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
